Who's behind it
I grew up on a ranch where horses weren't just a hobby — they were part of everyday life. That love for the trail has followed me everywhere.
I spent 13 years serving in the U.S. Army, finishing my military career as a helicopter pilot. Flying taught me to think differently about navigation, planning, risk management, and making complex information simple and useful. Those lessons became the foundation for Outrider.
The truth is, I didn't set out to build a business.
After years of hauling horses across the West — and even traveling across the country and back — I was constantly piecing together information from dozens of different places. Trail conditions, trailer parking, water access, camping, ride planning, and local knowledge were scattered everywhere. I wanted one place that could do it all.
When I retired from the Army in April, I decided to stop waiting for someone else to build it. I taught myself the fundamentals of coding and started creating Outrider from the ground up.
Today, Outrider is built around the same principles that made me a pilot: plan ahead, stay informed, and make good decisions with confidence. I like to think of it as an aviation-level planning tool for horse people — bringing trails, navigation, logistics, and community together in one place so you can spend less time planning and more time riding.
At the end of the day, I'm still just a horse girl who loves exploring new places with my horses. If Outrider makes your next adventure a little easier, then it's doing exactly what I hoped it would.
