Terms of Service
Short version: we help riders find trails, each other, and somewhere to stay. We don't ride with you, we don't own the land, and we can't promise the information is perfect.

Outrider is run by Outrider Trails LLC in Nevada. Using this site or the app means you accept these terms. If you don't, please don't use it.
You need to be 18 or older to use Outrider, organize a ride, or list a place.
Outrider is a place to find information and meet other riders. We don't organize rides, own or inspect any land or Outpost, or act as a guide, outfitter or booking agent. When you arrange something with another person through Outrider, the arrangement is between the two of you.
Outrider is in beta. Features may change, break or disappear while we build it.
Riding, handling and hauling horses carries real risk of injury and death, to you, your horse and other people. An app doesn't change that. You are responsible for your own judgment: whether your horse can handle the ground, whether your rig fits, whether to turn back.
Under Nevada law (NRS 41.519) and similar laws in other states, a participant in an equine activity assumes its inherent risks. Riding is at your own risk.
We date what we can and say where it came from. That is not a guarantee. Conditions change, agency data can be wrong or old, and we don't check everything riders tell us. There is no "verified" badge anywhere in Outrider — only dates.
Check the ground yourself, carry a map, and tell someone where you're going.
Anyone can organize a ride. The organizer decides who comes, where it goes and when it turns back. Outrider does not screen organizers or riders. If you organize a ride, you're responsible for how you run it. If you join one, you're responsible for yourself and your horse. Use ordinary sense about meeting people you don't know.
An Outpost is someone's private property. The stay is an agreement between you and the host, on their terms. Hosts can say no to anyone. You're responsible for your horses, rig, dogs and any damage; hosts are responsible for their own land and insurance. Only the host publishes photos of their place. Outrider doesn't insure, inspect or take responsibility for a stay.
When you send a trail note, photo or correction, you keep ownership and give us permission to show it in Outrider, including after you stop using it.
Rides you share. If you turn on ride sharing, each ride you save is sent, and you give us permanent permission to keep it and use it to work out where trails run. Trail lines are worked out from many riders' rides, so one ride can't be pulled back out of a line once it's built. We never publish your route for others to follow. Only share rides you had the right to ride.
Only send what's yours and what you believe is true. No other people's photos, nothing abusive, and nothing that identifies a person who hasn't agreed — including number plates and documents. We can remove anything.
Use Outrider freely to plan your own riding. Don't scrape, bulk-download or resell it, or build a competing database from it. Government source data stays public domain; our selection, corrections and riders' contributions are ours.
Be decent. Don't harass anyone, pretend to be someone else, or use Outrider to sell to people. We can stop anyone from contributing or organizing rides through Outrider, at any time, without explaining why.
Outrider is free right now, and the map and trail data will stay free. If we add paid features, the price and what's included will be clear before you pay.
As far as the law allows, Outrider is provided as is, with no promise that it's accurate, complete or available. We are not responsible for injury, death, damage or loss from riding, from a stay, from acting on information in Outrider, or from anything another user does. If we are found responsible anyway, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous twelve months. You agree to cover us for claims arising from your own use of Outrider.
